An AirAsia employee on duty travel died during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bandung on Wednesday. In a statement on Wednesday night, AirAsia Malaysia said that Flight AK416 was diverted to Senai International Airport, Johor Bahru due to a medical emergency. “The passenger, an AirAsia employee on duty travel, received immediate medical attention upon landing but was pronounced dead by an emergency doctor on the ground,” it said.AirAsia Malaysia extended its deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased and said it would provide all necessary support to the family during this bereavement period. “The safety of our guests is our utmost priority and we strive to provide as much assistance as possible in these circumstances,” they added. Norwegian flight #DY7042 to Copenhagen diverted to Shannon Airport after pilot suffers seizures
A Norwegian flight from Fort Lauderdale to Copenhagen was diverted to Shannon Airport on Wednesday after the pilot became incapacitated following a number of seizures. Norwegian flight #DY7042 was west of Ireland when the co-pilot of the aircraft issued a pan-pan call, advising the ATC that a “crew member” had fallen ill. According to The Sun, the 51-year-old pilot had suffered a number of seizures during the flight. The co-pilot confirmed, with the controllers, that there was a third pilot on board at the time. The third pilot assisted with the diversion and emergency landing.The Boeing 787-8 (reg. LN-LNE) with 266 passengers and crew, landed safely in Shannon at 09:54 UTC. The plane was greeted on the runway by an ambulance. The pilot was assessed while on board the aircraft and was removed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. A Norwegian Air spokesperson said “Flight DY7042 from Fort Lauderdale to Copenhagen was diverted to Shannon Airport this morning where it landed safely. The captain was replaced and the flight resumed to Copenhagen this afternoon. We would like to thank passengers for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience caused.” Source

Train derails near Milan, killing at least four people
A packed commuter train derailed near Milan on Thursday morning killing at least four people, seriously injuring 10, and leaving more than 100 with minor wounds. The train was on its way from Cremona to the Garibaldi Port station in Milan when it derailed between Segrate and Pioltello around 7am, according to local media. At least six people were stuck inside one of the carriages, Rai Radio1 reported, though emergency services have not ruled out that there could be more. Source

At least eight people are dead and 15 injured when a minibus plunged down a ravine in Guatemala
At least eight people were killed and 15 were seriously injured in Guatemala when a minibus came off the edge of a road and plunged down a ravine, an emergency services official said on Wednesday. The vehicle was traveling in the San Pedro Necta municipality in a mountainous part of western Guatemala when the accident occurred, a spokesman for fire services said. It was not immediately clear what caused the minibus to careen off the road, the spokesman said. Source
